Welcome to the Darkside of my Eye, The Y shaped flecks are the Retinitis Pigmentosa Deterioration which will continue through my cones in Y Shaped patterns.
The optician said his Camera wasnt good enough really to catch all the deterioration, there are specialcamera's where they would compress your eye to fit it all in.

25 12 11 The Doodle that gave birth to Itself
I'd say this is the first Doodle that made me think maybe these doodles might even be Art to someone.
All the Doodles are done Abstractly without me intentionally adding any lines until they begin to form into shapes with a life of there own. I haven't set up a business yet ;) but any are available to buy, as Im still waiting for surgery.

24 12 11 Daily Doodle Abstract Mucha Art Deco Spider Girl Doodle
Living off Sushi right now, forgot how much I love that stuff :)
The Art...
Went for a walk in the bitting hail and rain and came back turned off the computer and finished this. This nothing Like being dry whilst walking threw bitting hail in the Dark listening to music. When I got in I put on a rare vinyl and finished this off Marker Pens on A2 paper. Then this morning I recoloured some colours on photoshop ready to post.
- Frank Allen 24 12 11 17.29
The Music...
A Awesome colloborations of mordern musicians, Vic Chesnutt's album North Star Deserter featuring heavily A Silver Mount Zion, and another personal fave DC Hardcore ledgend Guy Picciotto from Fugazi. The music can not fail to move at some level.
When I Got in I put on a rare Velvet Underground Vinyl I picked up in Cambridge called Orange Disaster, It was pretty rough recordings but still really cool to draw to, John Cale was still there and that was the important thing.
Here they are doing a Tract Nirvana would later cover, Enjoy.

20 12 11 - RP and Running - Truly Inspiring Blind Athlete
Below is a really inspiring Guest Post by Simon a blind Extreme Distance Runner so I am going to run it again Today on the Doodle.
Special Guest Blog todays by Simon Wheatcroft, Simon has the Same degenerative eye condition as me Retinitis Pigmentosa. Receiving his story today in my Face book inbox really cheered me up, The more people I talk to with the more inspired and moved I am to keep doing the things I do.

Simon Wheatcroft's Guest Blog
RP and running
Having dealt with the issues surrounding RP from my early childhood to the present day was a difficult journey at first. When first diagnosed I wasn’t sure what the future would hold, what would I be capable of? What would I be able to see by the time I was 30? I seemed to have many questions and no idea how to manage the answers.
As I grew older I became more comfortable with my impending sight loss and carried on with my life. I drifted through college and found my way into a career in IT. After 10 years of career advancement I found myself in the unfortunate position of being made redundant. This gave me a great opportunity to assess my direction in life.
I decided it was time to truly test what I was capable of. I embarked on a new career and returned to college to gain the relevant qualification to attend university. I attended a regular college rather than a college that was targeted at the visually impaired. I believed it was important for me to adapt as well as the college in order to achieve personal goals.
Around the same time I started college I wanted to challenge myself physically. The biggest issue I had been having over the past few months was with my mobility. Moving around unaided had become incredibly difficult. So I wanted to find something that would challenge my mobility and push me mentally and physically.
I decided to start running, unable to afford a gym membership or a treadmill I only had one option: run outside. This was made slightly more complicated by the fact I didn’t have a guide runner. So despite being registered blind for over a decade I thought I would give running alone a try. I started by running on a football pitch; I would position myself between the goal posts and run to the other side of the pitch. I tracked my position using audio based GPS and ran up and down the field.
This proved very limiting and hazardous, so I thought I could translate the skills I had learnt on the fields to the road. I found myself a closed road and began to run up and down the road. Using audio GPS it was easy to track my location and pacing so began to build up the miles. After mastering the techniques I explored the local roads and began the transition to running on the open road alone. After memorizing a 2-mile route through the feel underfoot, audio GPS signals and using my ability to pick out certain visual elements such as a bus stop, I wanted to set myself a challenge.
I decided to train to run at the ultra distance, which is any distance above and beyond 26 miles. For my first race I chose to run a 100-mile hilly route in the Cotswolds. I aimed for 100 miles but only completed 83. I ran till I couldn’t stand and with non-functioning legs I was carried off the course. Since then I have completed other races including ultras and still continue to train outdoors alone.
Through running I was able to redefine my mental and physical limits. I achieved something people perceived impossible. When I thought about losing my vision as a child I never believed once blind I would learn to run alone and compete in one of the hardest running disciplines. Not only do I run at the ultra distance I compete against sighted people and beat them. Proving to myself and hopefully others that, a disability does not define what we can do. Those limits are still determined by what we believe we can do.

17.12.11 - Daily Doodle The Undertow of the Subconcious Comes Full Circle
While I was studying Graphic Design I did some of this made design work. I got terrible grades because the Art was always late and I went miles off theme, But I was pleased with most of the work that resulted.
I created the song on my four track one miserable morning. I just sat down and played and there it was, another marvel of the subconscious.
As always thanks for looking and please do comment.

14 12 11 - London Paris Moscow New York
Here goes the first Scheduled Post.
Firstly some good news about the Artist. My surgery was delayed but i had t go see the Surgeon to get some bad news. The Surgery is delayed and I need a new Scan. This is horrible, If it goes just a week longer it means being off work for more that 8 months, and bang goes my job.
But the good news, the doctor said I should phone to offer to take a cancellation for the scan, take anything. I was parallelized with fear at the prospect of phoning, any making of phone calls cause me anxiety. But I plunged ahead afte4r a whole day of worry. I got in tonight which was totally unexpected, I'd highly recommend trying that if your going inot surgery and you need a scan and your worried about the length of time your been off work.
The Doodle is called Animal Crackers, Marker Pens on A2 Paper. Took about one and a half hours to do, double that to scan the monster.
You get a Scanned in Doodle today instead of a photo. Im going to try predating my post so they go Automatically up. I'm going to try 8.30 New York time first, to just catch those people about to start work Idling on there computers.
Bloggers What do you think s the best time to post and what do you make of the Doodle?

I'm becoming more and more distracted of late by the Computer. Just its prescience is fuzzing up my brain.
I can remember a time when I felt on top of my ADD and it definitely didn’t involve any static buzz and whirring hidden drive beasties.
Therefore for a few days at least I am going to try and keep the computer to a minimum, and face book although offering me so much opportunity to 2 scheduled times a day. Anybody else readings this facing similar problems and a lot of PC Time?

08 12 11 - Bad News Doodle or Animal Crackers ?
Today you get the not so good doodle of the 2 I did this evening......
It started with a phonecall last night from the hospital, operations not going to happen on moday, maybe sometime in Janurary. Then I got to go see the surgeon and the first thing he says is 'this scans too old' :O so no surgery until a new scan is done.
Looking on the brightside, plenty more art to come. The down side, Pain of course and more importantly I miss working with the kids a lot, they keep me sane.

Back to the A3 Doodle Story Frank!
I'd woken up at 3 am very aware that I needed to get up and do something if I was Ever to Sleep. This is so typical of the type of thing you draw at 3 in the morning. Tell me what you think of the Art and the Musical Awesomeness of the Unicorns,

04 12 11 - Eyes Sharp Like Shrapnel
This is a Poem I improvised yesterday for a guest blog on Arjuns blog along with this A2 marker pen Doodle
Eyes Sharp like Shrapnel,
I saw the dew,
there was the feedback,
between your trusted Empty interior,
I felt for the cavity,
A Stare, a causal glance,
a trial by fire,
to tear free,
and then a chance,
yet thoughts like scribbling,
They feed from the heavens,
After they rain down in Finish,
below we grasp at shards,
reaching for metallic feelings,
Sipping on the Juices of the Void,
A empty sentence,
a walk in a direction,
a meaningless exchange,
a sense of regret,
a freedom so revealing,
Peace in the sky,
bring forward the emptiness,
the blinding of light,
twins though crippled,
fire comes from there hands,
Eyes like Shrapnel
Eyes like Shrapnel,
Eyes like Shrapnel
Eyes like Shrapnel
Eyes like Shrapnel..............
First poem in over a Decade written abstractly than the order shifted a little whilst listening to a Silver Mount Zion

1.A moment, you're still Quite dizzy, but on the ground 2.A clock on the wall ticks, And you can hear just fine 3.What is happening to me? You think to yourself. 4.Fine, until .... in your mind you think 'The clock just ticked again..' (silence) the exact same tick happened a moment ago. Is this possible? ____________________________ Shards of noises slowly suck your ear open an eyelid from it, until you see the view. You can see the sounds flying towards you In patterns of orange, green, silver and blue "The vase was flying" Wait. Did I just say that again? "The vase was flying" haha. What? Waiiitt...! The vase was flying! Gravity eyelids have opened (*Screeches and Screeches, you hear as you speak) Expression is meaningless Only Listen and see. Don't hurt your ears. As perpetual goosebumps reside inside you snap your fingers to end the trip But the thing is, This is not an LSD trip You'll remain like this forever Cuz it was just psychedelia playing in a record in the speaker in your ear on a headphone through a cord through an i-pod by your tears.

02 12 11 - Daily Doodle 'and now for something Completely Different'
Art done on A2 sat round Mel's Place in the usual abstract manor. Its growing on me each time I see it.
I think these post are getting Latter and Latter. Today is a Momentous Day got my first ever piece of Art in a shop. My Local book shop in Biggleswade Suzie's. They have room allocated for more so I'm on to mounting them pronto.
So weird I only started doing Abstract Art for just Art sake, not some Graphic Design rubbish Course four Weeks back and I feel a lot has change. I've found a way to chill out and Let go with the prospect of something useful at the end. All the skills for finishing and mounting, scanning, like they have at last came together for a unplanned purpose.
The Music
The Art was done at Mels last Saturday night, took about an hour to draw, Markers on A2. I cant remember what so here something as far offy from Zappa as aman can get but a great tune by Mathew Ryan, totally honest song writer and completely honest songwriting.
Missing Nico :)
Thanks for looking, Tomorrow I guest On Arjun's Blog and He guest's on Mine so that will be super cool.

24 11 11 - Daily Doodle War on Bruce Springsteen
Last night sitting in the Living room with Becky and this emerges........
It seemed the obvious choice to call it War on Springsteen. There isnt much music that really really frustrates me, but Sorry BS Fans, all Bruce is a loser.
Its like he needs some kind of sound Injection. They call it Rock N Roll but to these ears, I'm not hearing the Rocking or the Rolling.
The Piece, as Usual its marker pen, this time on A2 folded to be A1. Come Fly With Me, was on BBC iPlayer and I was just drawing Random Lines as usual. The Whole Piece took the Usual hour Max. I think it represents kicking his lame butt. ;)
I might Digitize it at some point, I'm picturing a lot of RED here, or maybe Army Greens. A Big Reed White and Blue American, Gun Ho, Bonanza Maybe.
Let me know what you think of Bruce Lame Head, an if you strongly Disagree. Also let , me know if you want to buy anything. You'd be the first ever person to buy a piece of Frank Art.
The Blog is 2 Weeks Old Today and posting Daily.

Blooming.eu
Redirected frankart.co.uk to hit allendesign.eu site today. The plan is to at least atempt to become a commercial artist and sell a print, but i've got to be honest what ever possessed me to go for. Eu...
From a business angle, really not my usual angle on anything, it is insane. People are bound to presume im outside the Uk somewhere in some Balkan state and instantly say, Im not bothering with that bloomin caffuffle.
The Important thing for me as allways though is that the art remains pure and uncontrived and I think im still sucseeded at that.
The art
A2 marker pens. Done whilst on the phone to my ADD Coach.
Thanks for looking, please comment.

30 11 11 Frank Zappa Overload
Daily Doodle 30 November 2011 Frank Zappa Overload
Quite obviously this ones a little charged with something weird. Just did it listening to a ultra Frank Zappa instrumental Vinyl round mels.
It was good but a little crazy, and not completely abstract. but even this wasn't as crazy as the nights other offerings which will come up soon. I think me and Mel journey a little to deep into the unravellings state brought on by to much Zappa.
AS allways please do comment and thanks for looking.
